WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE?
Reitnouer Maxmiser flatbeds are available in 48ft and 53ft lengths. Reitnouer Dropmiser stepdecks are available in 53ft. All are 102″ wide. Contact a Pedigree Trailer Expert at 417-607-6111 for current availability in each size.

WHAT MAKES AN ALL ALUMINUM FLATBED OR STEPDECK BETTER THAN A STEEL OR COMBO TRAILER?
Weight. An all aluminum Reitnouer flatbed weighs significantly less than a steel or
combination (steel/aluminum) flatbed, which means you can legally haul more payload
per load. More payload per load means more revenue per mile. Aluminum also does not
rust, which means lower maintenance costs and better resale value over the life of
the trailer. For an owner-operator or small fleet, that weight savings adds up to
thousands of dollars in additional freight revenue every year.
DO ALL YOUR REITNOUER FLATBEDS AND DROPDECKS HAVE SLIDING AXLES?
No. The 48ft Maxmiser has a FIXED 10’2″ axle spread with no slider. This is
intentional: on a 48ft trailer, the fixed 10’2″ spread is already California legal
by design, so no slider is needed. It also means one less moving part to maintain.
The 53ft Maxmiser has a sliding rear axle that adjusts from 10’2″ open to 56″ closed.
The 53ft Dropmiser has a sliding tandem rear. Both 53ft models need to be slid to
the closed position to meet California bridge law.
WHAT TIRE OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
Every trailer comes with 50% tread or better on super singles. New virgin dual tires or new super single tires are available for an additional $1,500, which is a heavily discounted price. You can’t buy name brand new tires for that price anywhere else. Contact our Pedigree Trailer Experts for information.
ARE THESE FLATBED TRAILERS CALIFORNIA COMPLIANT?
Yes, but the two Maxmiser lengths handle California compliance differently:
The 48ft Maxmiser is inherently California legal. Its fixed 10’2″ axle spread puts
the kingpin to center of rear axle right at California’s 40ft limit by design, so
there is nothing to adjust before entering the state.
The 53ft Maxmiser and the 53ft Dropmiser both have sliding rear axles. They are
California legal when the rear axle is slid to the closed position (56″ spacing).
Experienced flatbed drivers handle this routinely, sliding the axles closed before
the state line and open after leaving.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REITNOUER MAXMISER AND A DROPMISER?
The Maxmiser is a standard flatbed (flat deck, same height front to back) available in
48ft and 53ft lengths. Both lengths have a front lift axle and a mini coil package.
The 48ft has a fixed 10’2″ axle spread, the 53ft has a sliding rear axle.
The Dropmiser is a stepdeck (also called a drop deck) with a raised front section
(10’8″ upper deck) and a lower rear section. The lower deck height lets you haul taller
freight without exceeding the 13’6″ overall height limit. It comes in 53ft only and
has a sliding tandem rear instead of the Maxmiser’s front lift/rear slider setup.

WHAT DOES THE AUTO TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM DO?
The Hendrickson Tiremaax CP system maintains constant tire pressure automatically while
you drive. The Maxmiser runs at 85 PSI and the Dropmiser runs at 110 PSI. Properly
inflated tires reduce blowout risk, improve fuel economy, and extend tire life. It
eliminates one of the most common and time-consuming maintenance tasks on any trailer.

WHAT IS THE FRONT LIFT AXLE ON THE REITNOUER MAXMISER FLATBED?
Both the 48ft and 53ft Maxmiser have a Hendrickson Intraax 230L automatic front lift
axle that raises off the ground when the trailer is running empty or under a light load.
This reduces tire wear on the front axle, improves fuel economy, and makes tight turns
easier when bobtailing to your next pickup. The axle automatically lowers when weight
is applied. The Dropmiser does not have a front lift axle; it uses a sliding tandem
rear instead.

WHERE DO I FIND LOADS FOR A FLATBED TRAILER?
DAT and Truckstop.com are the two biggest load boards for flatbed and stepdeck freight. Most flatbed operators build direct relationships with brokers who specialize in steel, lumber, building materials, and machinery. WHAT MAINTENANCE DOES A FLATBED OR DROPDECK TRAILER REQUIRE?
Annual DOT inspection, brake and tire inspections between loads, wood nailer replacement every few years depending on use, and periodic winch and strap inspection. The Hendrickson Tiremaax system handles tire pressure automatically. Sealed grease hubs eliminate wheel bearing repacks for 7 years. The bolted aluminum construction means no rust-through repair work — the enemy of steel trailer owners. Overall maintenance cost is significantly lower than a steel or combo flatbed.

WHY REINTOUER INSTEAD OF FONTAINE, DORSEY, EAST OR TRANSCRAFT?
Reitnouer pioneered bolted aluminum flatbed construction. The repair advantage is real: damaged sections bolt off and bolt back on, where a Fontaine or Transcraft combo flatbed requires welding and often frame work for the same damage. Reitnouers are also typically lighter than comparable Fontaine or Dorsey aluminum flatbeds because of the bolted design (no welded steel subframe). In the used market, Reitnouers hold value better for the same reason — a 10 year old Reitnouer with normal wear can be made cosmetically new with part swaps, where a Fontaine at the same age often shows welded patches and cannot be restored the same way.
